Brief Histrionic Personality Scale (BHPS)
About this test
Histrionic Personality Disorder (HPD) is described in the DSM-5-TR as a persistent pattern of excessive emotionality and attention seeking that begins by early adulthood and appears across contexts. Common features include discomfort when not the center of attention, sexually seductive or provocative behavior, rapidly shifting and shallow emotional expression, dramatic or impressionistic speech, suggestibility, and perceiving relationships as more intimate than they are.
The Brief Histrionic Personality Scale (BHPS) is an 11-item self-report screening questionnaire developed by Ferguson & Negy (2014) to assess histrionic personality features. Scores range from 11 to 44.
